Welcome to Hana Jam, where disc golf meets community, competition, and unforgettable vibes! What started as Squirl’s simple idea to bring players together has evolved into an epic 18-hole event bursting with energy, excitement, and passion for the sport.

Chris “Squirl” Gilbert, a Sullivan’s Island native, is deeply committed to community, nature, and the arts. With a background in greens keeping, landscape design, and organic farming, he now channels his expertise into disc golf course design, transforming overlooked spaces into thriving public assets. As a longtime board member and Superintendent of the Charleston Disc Golf Community (CDGC), Squirl has played a vital role in growing the sport in the Lowcountry. He spearheaded over 750 volunteer hours to revamp the Wannamaker County Park Disc Golf Course, significantly increasing its usage. Under his leadership, CDGC—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—also hosts an annual tournament benefiting the Lowcountry Food Bank, reinforcing its mission of blending recreation with social impact.

His most recent endeavor, the Hanahan Amphitheater Course, perfectly showcases his vision. Built entirely through volunteer efforts, this course revitalized a neglected area into a space that unites disc golf and live music. The project reflects the core purpose of Find the Line (FTL), the company he founded to design courses, organize tournaments, and strengthen community ties through the sport.

A passionate disc golfer, music enthusiast, and devoted father of two, Squirl approaches every project with determination and creativity. Hana Jam marks just the start of his larger mission—proving how collaboration and dedication can turn ideas into lasting community spaces.

Let’s throw, jam, and make history together. See you at Hana Jam!
